Mornings can be rough. Your alarm goes off. You hit snooze. Soon, you’re panicked and rushing to get ready for the workday.
Usually, the first thing to go is breakfast. You don’t have time to make anything – or at least you don’t have time to make anything healthy. Maybe you even end up grabbing a donut or muffin from your local coffee shop on the way to work.
The problem? This isn’t exactly the most healthy or energizing option. It might fill you up for an hour. But often, you’ll be wanting more soon. Plus, foods like donuts and chocolate muffins aren’t exactly full of the good stuff, like nutrients that your body needs.
And skipping breakfast is also not the best option. It leads to massive cravings come lunchtime which leads to not-so-great choices.
So, what can you do?
The answer is simple. Pre-make healthy food options that you can grab on your way out the door in the morning.
These egg muffins are the perfect recipe to try out!
They’re loaded with protein and good fats, starting your day off on the right foot. They also can be as organic as you can get – depending on the ingredients you purchase.
And feel free to make these all your own. If you don’t like the veggies in the recipe list, substitute them for other varieties that you enjoy.
Now, let’s get down to it! How do you make these tasty and healthy egg muffins?
1/3 cup green peppers, mushrooms, and onions, chopped
4 – 8 thin slices ham or bacon
2 oz. cheese, shredded
salt and pepper
Preheat the oven to 350°F. Whisk the eggs together with seasoning and veggies. Add the cheese and stir. Spray muffin tins. Place the batter in muffin forms 1/2 full and add bacon or ham. Bake for 15–20 minutes, depending on the size of the muffin forms.
And you’re done!
Make these and throw them in the fridge for your upcoming week. They should last up to a week in your refrigerator.
Remember, you are what you eat. Fuel your body with good food choices and you’ll get the best out of it. Ultimately, food is your foundation.
